Thanks to the bravura of Vittorio and Stesina Castelli, every Sunday morning since<br />

1969 people have queued up outside their shop to buy trays of bignole to take home<br />

as a post-prandial treat. Today the business is run by their son Livio, his wife Antonella<br />

and their partners Alessandro and Barbara, a foursome who have brought with them a<br />

surge of youth and new creations and combinations. Here you’ll find a vast assortment<br />

of traditional Piedmontese confectionery, chocolate bars made with the finest cacao crus,<br />

classic e cakes and pies, seasonal fruit tarts, mousses and bavarois with the most original<br />

decorations. And if you’re looking for cakes at Christmas or Easter, go for their panettone<br />

(which is improving every year) and colomba. Pan gindru, a delicate sweet focaccia filled<br />

with apricot jam now regarded as typical of Caselle, is always available.<br />
