The Birrificio Torino celebrated its tenth
birthday last year — ten years of
well-deserved success we might add. This is
obviously due to the quality of the brewery’s
products, all unfiltered, unpasteurized
beers, and the brainwave of opening a good
gastropub alongside the production plant
(it’s no coincidence that the place is always
packed with diners). Returning to beers, the
prime reason and driving force behind Birrificio
Torino’s success, the typologies produced are:
Birra Torino (a low-fermented double malt pale
ale), Rufus (ditto but amber in color), Clara
(a light, quaffable pale ale) and Sahara (a
delicious ginger-flavored blanche). Some beers
are produced seasonally: they include Masca
(a dark winter beer), Birra di Natale (a honey-
flavored Christmas beer) and Aurora, named
for the neighborhood in which the brewery is
situated (a hops-packed Indian pale ale). It’s
up to you what to eat with your beer, but if
you want a piece of advice, go for the three
frankfursters with three sauces!
