he Avidano café and cake shop, extremely popular with the locals, is situated on<br />

the corner under the arch, right in the center of Chieri. The orange and brown<br />

walls give a sense of light to the premises, where Marco and his wife, father and a<br />

well-knit team of assistants make and sell biscuits (baci di dama, brutti e buoni, petit<br />

fours), fantastic fruit and spice jellies, and more than 30 types of pralines, including<br />

one made with fleur de sel and another with salted peanuts. They also bake lots of<br />

cakes, including their very own Sette veli and Caterina. New to Marco’s repertoire<br />

are a series of yummy cakes coated with raspberries, white chocolate, cherries and<br />

double cream that you can eat as you stroll or take home. Worthy of special mention<br />

is Radiosa, a chocolate bar developed in collaboration with the designer Tibaldi that<br />

offers a sensory experience that transcends taste alone.<br />
