beekeeper who stubbornly hunts out places untouched by intensive farming —<br />

that’s Andrea Bianco, now at the helm of the firm named for his father. The busi-<br />

ness is based in Caluso, though nomadism is part and parcel of its production philosophy.<br />

The hives are moved to follow the flowering seasons — from uncontaminated woodland<br />

to monofloral areas, from the chestnut woods of the Canavese district of Piedmont to the<br />

citrus groves of Sicily — to produce honeys of different aromas, textures and levels of<br />

sweetness. In collaboration with a Canavese distillery, Andrea also produces a delicious<br />

honey-flavored grappa.<br />

His products can be found at a number of shops in Turin and province and its on-line store<br />

sells a selection of fine rare honeys, the so-called personalized for gifts and special occasions.<br />
