BREWERIES
Over the last few years they’ve changed the names but not the substance of their
beers. We are referring to La Piazza, the interesting project which, in Via Durandi,
comprises a vocational school, which trains hundreds of youngsters for the hotel and
catering professions, a brewery, a chocolate workshop, a pub, a restaurant and much more
besides. Bottles that used to be named after artists are now named after movements:
laRomantica, a 5°kölsch, is the most quaffable of the light beers, laRinascimentale is a
5.5° amber bitter ale, laRealista is a fruity 7.5° doppelbock, laSurrealista is a 5° American
pale ale, amber in color with a bitter hopsy note, and laDadaista is a 5° stout fl avored with
cocoa beans. Craft-made, unpasteurized and bottle-conditioned. they are all on sale in
takeaway cartons, but the best place to taste them is in the pub, which has outside tables
in the courtyard in the summer, or in the more formal restaurant on the fi rst fl oor, which
also has a summer terrace.
