It all began almost 80 years ago with a dozen purebred Piedmontese cattle. Now there<br />

are hundreds of them, plus rabbits, chickens, and pigs, all raised by the Scaglia family in<br />

the countryside round Cascine Vica, near Rivoli. The butchery facilities were extended and<br />

renovated this spring and the shop now sells only the products of the farm, which belongs<br />

to the Coalvi consortium: fresh meat, home-cured meats, such as bovinello, veal salami,<br />

vein-salted boiled ham, 100% Piedmontese veal frankfurter, plus meat sauces and jars of<br />

tripe. In September 2009 Scaglia also opened M** Bun in Rivoli and has since opened a<br />

second shop in the center of Turin. They sell hamburgers, beef and chicken, fresh and in<br />

dishes made using exclusively meat from the farm and local produce.<br />

The farm shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday.<br />
