FARMS
It all began almost 80 years ago with a dozen purebred Piedmontese cattle. Now there
are hundreds of them, plus rabbits, chickens, and pigs, all raised by the Scaglia family in
the countryside round Cascine Vica, near Rivoli. The butchery facilities were extended and
renovated this spring and the shop now sells only the products of the farm, which belongs
to the Coalvi consortium: fresh meat, home-cured meats, such as bovinello, veal salami,
vein-salted boiled ham, 100% Piedmontese veal frankfurter, plus meat sauces and jars of
tripe. In September 2009 Scaglia also opened M** Bun in Rivoli and has since opened a
second shop in the center of Turin. They sell hamburgers, beef and chicken, fresh and in
dishes made using exclusively meat from the farm and local produce.
The farm shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday.
