FARMS
From producer to consumer without middlemen — that’s the challenge Adolfo, backed
by his wife Marina and sons Fabio, Giuseppe and Riccardo, has been addressing
since joining a direct sales project organized by the Turin branch of the Italian farmers’
association (Coldiretti). Adolfo farms about 150 Piedmontese cattle, pigs and a few egg-
laying hens, all fed on natural feed and hay made on the farm. In the butcher’s shop,
Marina and Fabio sell beef from their cattle and pork from their pigs, as well as eggs from
the hens, and they are also happy to meet customers’ requests for special cuts or dishes
or meat for barbecues. They also make boiled and raw salamis and the Canavese specialty
salampatata, potato salami, with the pork. The family’s origins are in the Val d’Aosta, as
you can tell from some of the products they sell, such as mocetta, chamois ham, and jams
from select producers in the valley. The farm’s potatoes are also on sale.
Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
