This cake shop came into being in the 1950s in another part of town, but Giovanni
moved it to its present premises in 1983. Not that his professional philosophy, based
on excellent primary ingredients and respect for tradition combined with willingness to in-
novate, has ever changed. On the one hand, he always uses sourdough for his panettone,
colomba and focaccia, and candies his own fruit; on the other, he enjoys inventing new
shapes and unusual combinations. Here you’ll find a splendid everyday production of small
cakes and biscuits, pralines, gianduiotti and all sorts of chocolates, as well as original crea-
tions, such as the chocolate mole (the spire symbol of Turin) and toret (tower), personalized
Easter eggs and American wedding cakes, veritable confectionery sculptures that can also
made to order for other occasions. The shop’s homemade ice-creams are also excellent. A
catering service is also available on request.
