oberto Crosio is a young winegrower with a professional diploma in geometry. As a child<br />

he showed a great interest in the wine sector and it was his parents who gave him his<br />

first vine as a present. Since then it has been a downhill journey. Roberto learned the art of wine<br />

from the local elders and put the knowledge into practice in his cellar in Caluso. His business<br />

strategy goes into the opposite direction to that of most other Canavese producers. As is well<br />

known, Caluso is a place particularly suited to white wines, whereas Crosio has chosen to invest<br />

time and energy in a red wine, Goccianera, made totally with barbera grapes. The company also<br />

produces a number of whites, including Erbaluce Primavigna 2010 and Erbaluce Passito Eva<br />

D’Or. Roberto prefers to use old peasant methods to the extreme use of modern techniques.<br />

He says, “it intends to convey soul: that of the vine, of the terroir, of the climate and … mine».<br />
