oberto Crosio is a young winegrower with a professional diploma in geometry. As a child
he showed a great interest in the wine sector and it was his parents who gave him his
first vine as a present. Since then it has been a downhill journey. Roberto learned the art of wine
from the local elders and put the knowledge into practice in his cellar in Caluso. His business
strategy goes into the opposite direction to that of most other Canavese producers. As is well
known, Caluso is a place particularly suited to white wines, whereas Crosio has chosen to invest
time and energy in a red wine, Goccianera, made totally with barbera grapes. The company also
produces a number of whites, including Erbaluce Primavigna 2010 and Erbaluce Passito Eva
D’Or. Roberto prefers to use old peasant methods to the extreme use of modern techniques.
He says, “it intends to convey soul: that of the vine, of the terroir, of the climate and … mine».
