BREWERIES<br />

Maurizio Griva and Graziano Migliasso have been beer fans and home brewers for<br />

a long time. After years of beer tourism, in 2007 they decided to take the plunge<br />

and open this brewery in the Turin neighborhood of the same name. In 2011 it moved to<br />

new premises in Via Airasca and the space next door has been exploited to create a brewpub,<br />

where punters can taste the beers, accompanying them if they wish with a dish from the menu,<br />

which features mainly Piedmontese veal and beef. The low- and high fermentation beers<br />

produced, named after woods by way of a homage to Graziano’s passion for cabinetmaking,<br />

all share the same crispness and quality. Our favorites are the amber Frakè, an America-style<br />

lager, Ipè, including the Harvest version made with fresh hops from western Liguria, and<br />

Celebration, made with American hops, and the Düsseldorf altbier–style Iatobà. Also worth<br />

mentioning are the pale Pecan and Robinia, the amber Hemlock and the dark Castanea.<br />

Open Wednesday to Saturday, from 7pm to 2am.<br />
