This lovely cake shop cum ice-cream parlor cum cafeteria opposite the old Ceat factory is a great place for breakfasts with croissants or bun ben bun (shortcrust pastries filled with chocolate). Everything — candies, Easter eggs, panettone and candied fruit — is produced “in house” using only select ingredients. In the orange season, they candy the zest or coat it with chocolate and also use the leftover flesh to make delicious sundaes. Their petite patisserie and biscuits are creative and innovative: one such is Anita, for example, coated with a cream of eggplant and stewed apples. Cakes include Provami, which comes in three versions with hazelnut and orange, chestnuts and, in sum- mer, strawberries, Bellavista, with chocolate cream, nougat, cream and flaked chocolate, which is baked in different shapes accord- ing to the occasion, and the lovely orange- flavored cream cake, fresh on the palate and pleasantly bitter, on a light sponge base with a chocolate heart. Una sosta nel dehors di Sapo- rito, pasticceria di esperienza più che trentennale, conferma pienamente questa sensazione, dandoci l’impressione di una colazione in paese, allietata da tante buone proposte. Se è dalla colazione che vogliamo iniziare, ecco allora i croissant alla mar- mellata, le viennesi con gocce di cioccolato, gli amaretti e i frolloni. Ampia la scelta di pasticcini, tra i quali, belli e coloratissimi, quelli alla frutta con crema pasticciera, quelli alla panna, al cioccolato, i cannoli allo zabaione e via andando. Poi il torrone fatto alla “vecchia maniera”, uno dei tanti vanti casalinghi, i panettoni natalizi a lievitazione naturale (anche il pan-noce), le colombe e le uova pasquali. D’estate eccellenti gelati e sempre, per chi preferisce una sosta all’insegna della sapidità, pizze, salatini, torte salate. Chiuso lunedì.
