This lovely cake shop cum ice-cream<br />

parlor cum cafeteria opposite the old<br />

Ceat factory is a great place for breakfasts<br />

with croissants or bun ben bun (shortcrust<br />

pastries filled with chocolate). Everything —<br />

candies, Easter eggs, panettone and candied<br />

fruit — is produced “in house” using only<br />

select ingredients. In the orange season, they<br />

candy the zest or coat it with chocolate and<br />

also use the leftover flesh to make delicious<br />

sundaes. Their petite patisserie and biscuits<br />

are creative and innovative: one such is<br />

Anita, for example, coated with a cream of<br />

eggplant and stewed apples. Cakes include<br />

Provami, which comes in three versions with<br />

hazelnut and orange, chestnuts and, in sum-<br />

mer, strawberries, Bellavista, with chocolate<br />

cream, nougat, cream and flaked chocolate,<br />

which is baked in different shapes accord-<br />

ing to the occasion, and the lovely orange-<br />

flavored cream cake, fresh on the palate and<br />

pleasantly bitter, on a light sponge base with<br />

a chocolate heart.<br />
