TEA HOUSES<br />

This establishment was famous at the end of the 19th century for its coffee. In the last<br />

ten years, since Claudia Carità entered the family business, it has veered towards tea.<br />

A selection of 100% arabica coffee is still available, but it’s tea that now plays the starring<br />

role. As Claudia says, “We still sell coffee, but out of passion and pleasure we are dedicated<br />

to tea”. Hence fine varieties, such as white tea with a very delicate aroma, Pu-erh tea,<br />

red tea from Yunnan, a land of secular plants whose leaves undergo a special process of<br />

double-fermentation and long storage which give them an intense flavor of damp wood,<br />

green shadow tea produced in the south of Japan, where, when it starts to germinate, the<br />

whole plantation is covered with rush mats to filter the light so that the leaves acquire a<br />

slightly bitter sugary flavor, teas flavored according to exclusive recipes, black teas, oolong<br />

and tisanes. Products can also be bought online.<br />

Closed Saturday afternoon and Sunday.<br />
