TEA HOUSES
This establishment was famous at the end of the 19th century for its coffee. In the last
ten years, since Claudia Carità entered the family business, it has veered towards tea.
A selection of 100% arabica coffee is still available, but it’s tea that now plays the starring
role. As Claudia says, “We still sell coffee, but out of passion and pleasure we are dedicated
to tea”. Hence fine varieties, such as white tea with a very delicate aroma, Pu-erh tea,
red tea from Yunnan, a land of secular plants whose leaves undergo a special process of
double-fermentation and long storage which give them an intense flavor of damp wood,
green shadow tea produced in the south of Japan, where, when it starts to germinate, the
whole plantation is covered with rush mats to filter the light so that the leaves acquire a
slightly bitter sugary flavor, teas flavored according to exclusive recipes, black teas, oolong
and tisanes. Products can also be bought online.
