The proportion <strong>of</strong> farmers in the age group above 65 years is the highest in the Kallada command, ie .. 24 per cent. as against only 13.91 per cent in Peechi project. It shows that the younger generation do not find farming attractive. This may be due to educational quali fication and other skills acquired by them to get better employment opportunities. 131
