Interesting, because, farmers are able to perceive the econumics <strong>of</strong> the system In their own way, which renects their concern to avoid wasteful expenditure <strong>of</strong> the public funds. An understanding <strong>of</strong> the land saving dimension <strong>of</strong> the MCS is equally important where a majority <strong>of</strong> the holdings arc small and marginal. lhe proportion <strong>of</strong> farmers reporting this benefit is more in the rniddk n:aches (25 %). compared to 22 per cent in the head reaches and 21 per cent in the tail end.
