108 Tomasz KwarcińskiFORMATION OF LAND INFRASTRUCTURE NETWORKOF WEST POMERANIAN PROVINCE IN THE ASPECTOF THE OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ‘INFRASTRUCTUREAND ENVIRONMENT’SummaryOwing to EU funds in 2007, in West Pomeranian Province, managed to return thesection of motorway A-6 to use (section Klucz–Kijewo) and Kobylanki, Morzyczyna andZieleniewa ring road, in the sequence of road no. 10. Both investments were co-financeas part of the European Regional Development Fund (perspective 2004–2006) and ina significant way also improved the travel quality, safety (road no. 10 is acknowledgedone the most dangerous in Poland).Expressway S-3 planned to realization will create the new quality of communicationconnection between Szczecin and other centres in the country and abroad. However,it is necessary to remember, that for the appropriate development of the province, usingits chances, faster road investments than planned in government documents are neededon the entire road network of West Pomeranian Province.Planned for the accomplishment investments in the development of railway infrastructureof the West Pomeranian Province one should regard as insufficient. A factof including only one railway line in the indicative list of big individual projects OperationalProgramme ‘Infrastructure and Environment’ is proving it. Investments on remaininglines have been planned for later years. Such action will not serve the improvementof competitive position of this mode of transport especially in relation to road transport.Translated by Tomasz Kwarciński
