They require from the port the appropriate infrastructure and qualified employees.Adaptation of port for handling of such cargoes requires from the particular country considerableexpenditures, not every state, for instance: Poland can allow for.Thanks to the fact that in 2004 Poland joined the European Union, which elaboratedPolicy challenges and Budgetary means of the Enlarged Union 2007–2013 and becauseof the demand for transportation of afore mentioned group of cargoes to Norway, Polandhas a chance to arise in the market of carriages of oversized and heavy cargoes by sea.Present article specifies the oversized and heavy cargoes as well as directs possible investmentsin order to create a possibility of development of this segment of the marketin our country.Translated by Izabela Serafi n-Kowalska
