SWITCHGEAR TEST REPORT CHECKLIST
Check equipment internally and externally for physical damage.
Check switches, circuit breakers and fuses for correct rating and setting per Plans and wiring diagrams. Check
adjustable setting for compliance with short- circuit cord study.
Check all switches and circuit breakers for proper mechanical operation (open & closure). Check metering
switches for proper operation.
Check all Adraw-out@ switches for proper withdrawal and insertion.
Check all Astored energy@ circuit breakers and switches for proper operation.
Adequate ventilation, lighting and clearance per N.E.C. and manufacturer=s
recommendations. Note discrepancies.
RECOMMENDED ADDITIONAL TESTS
(Test Potentials, Duration and Conditions per ANSI, IEEE and NEMA recommendations.)
Insulation tests at
volts (determined by switchgear rating) as follows:
Phase to Phase
Phase to Ground
Across Open Poles
Ground Bus continuity-equipment grounded
Key interlocking system where applicable
Bus-Tie Phasing internally and with external service & load
Overpotenial test per ANSI/IEEE for type and rating of tested equipment.
Demonstrate ground fault relay operation by activating Atest@ circuit.
Demonstrate ground fault relay operation of AShunt trip@devices where applicable.
Demonstrate proper operation of al electrically operated circuit breakers.
