13.3 Modes of Operation<br />

This subsection describes the operation of the watchdog timer in<br />

low-power modes and debug mode of operation.<br />

13.3.1 Wait Mode<br />

In wait mode with the WAIT bit set in the watchdog control register<br />

(WCR), watchdog timer operation stops. In wait mode with the WAIT bit<br />

clear, the watchdog timer continues to operate normally.<br />

In doze mode with the DOZE bit set in WCR, watchdog timer module<br />

operation stops. In doze mode with the DOZE bit clear, the watchdog<br />

timer continues to operate normally.<br />

The watchdog operation stops in stop mode. When stop mode is exited,<br />

the watchdog operation continues operation from the state it was in prior<br />

to entering stop mode.<br />

In debug mode with the DBG bit set in WCR, watchdog timer module<br />

operation stops. In debug mode with the DBG bit clear, the watchdog<br />

timer continues to operate normally. When debug mode is exited,<br />

watchdog timer operation continues from the state it was in before<br />

entering debug mode, but any updates made in debug mode remain.<br />
