A PSU is a <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> shore facility with an OPFAC, Command<br />

Cadre, and permanently assigned duty-standers, unit boat allowance, and<br />

equipment, which reports to an Area Commander.<br />

A Sector is a <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> shore facility with an OPFAC, Command<br />

Cadre, Command Center and permanently assigned duty-standers, unit<br />

boat allowance, and equipment which reports to a District Commander.<br />

An MFPU is a <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> shore facility with an OPFAC, Command<br />

Cadre, permanently assigned duty-standers, unit boat allowance, and<br />

equipment which reports to the District.<br />

An MSRT is a <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> unit which provides active count er-terrorism<br />

and advanced interdiction operations, and addresses capacity and<br />

capability gaps in national maritime counter-terrorism response.<br />

A Deployable Operations Unit is a permanent <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> unit with an<br />

OPFAC and Command Cadre under the Operational Command of the<br />

DOG.<br />

A Strike Team is a <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> shore facility with an OPFAC,<br />

Command Cadre, unit boat allowance, and response equipment for the<br />

detection and mitigation of oil, chemical, and weapons of mass<br />

destruction incidents. The three Strike Teams (Atlantic, Gulf, and<br />

Pacific) make up the National Strike Force (NSF), which is managed by<br />

the NSF Coordination Center and reports directly to the Deployable<br />

Operations Group. The members of the Strike Teams are highly trained<br />

<strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> professionals who maintain and rapidly deploy with<br />

specialized equipment and incident management skills at any time, to any<br />

place, for any environmental hazard.<br />

A Training Center (Training Center Yorktown, Special Missions<br />

Training Center, Maritime Law Enforcement Academy) is a <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong><br />

shore facility with an OPFAC, Command Cadre, unit boat allowance,<br />

permanently assigned instructors, and equipment to train personnel to<br />

carry out missions at Boat Force units.<br />
