Responsibilities<br />

Units must remain prepared, equipped and trained to conduct MSRO<br />

activities. Boat Force units patrol ports, waterways, coastal or offshore<br />

areas of the U.S. or U.S. territories to provide presence, monitor activity,<br />

gather information, and generally increase awareness. Patrols aim to<br />

detect, deter, and disrupt the activities, surveillance, planning and<br />

execution of terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and other subversive acts.<br />

Units may be called upon to conduct any of the following MSRO<br />

activities:<br />

(01) Maritime Critical Infrastructure/Key Resource Patrols.<br />

(02) Fixed Security Zone Patrol.<br />

(03) Small Vessel Security Boardings.<br />

(04) Positive Control Measures.<br />

(05) Escorts.<br />

(06) Military Outload Protection.<br />

(07) Surge Operations.<br />
