Chapter 1 –Training and Qualification<br />

Membership<br />

Training Board membership shall, at a minimum, include the following:<br />

(01) XO/XPO.<br />

(02) All Department Heads.<br />

(03) ANT supervisor (if assigned).<br />

(04) Training Petty Officer (if assigned).<br />

(05) Coxswain/Surfman.<br />

Responsibilities<br />

The Training Board shall:<br />

(01) Prepare the unit training plan to establish training policies and<br />

priorities; define unit needs and specify training objectives to<br />

meet mission responsibilities.<br />

(02) Supervise and control training and periodically review and<br />

modify training policies and programs to adapt to changing needs<br />

and conditions.<br />

(03) Manage the unit training plan by scheduling unit drills and<br />

exercises, departmental training periods, professional<br />

development training, and schedules for accomplishing general<br />

military training.<br />

Responsibilities<br />

The unit Training Officer/Petty Officer (E-6 or above), and Station<br />

(small) OIC shall:<br />

(01) Coordinate all unit training.<br />

(02) Monitor the unit training program.<br />

(03) Maintain unit training program guidance and files.<br />

(04) Ensure underway drills and exercises are captured in the E-<br />

Training System.<br />

(05) Maintain a central file of lesson plan outlines for all recurring<br />

training.<br />

(06) Maintain the E-Training system.<br />
