Course Managers, in conjunction with Commandant (CG-132), may<br />

certify training as equivalent to resident training completion. Units may<br />

request certification of other than resident training courses by forwarding<br />

a written request for consideration to Commandant (CG-132) via the<br />

chain of command, copies to the Course Manager and Commandant<br />

(CG-731). Equivalent training (i.e., striker programs) must be completed<br />

in accordance with all applicable instructions and directives.<br />

Personnel filling Designated Surfman Trainer billets are required to<br />

complete the resident Instructor Development Course (Course code<br />

230140) within six months of reporting.<br />

The Boat Forces Command Cadre Course (Course code 230277) is<br />

required training for all members in receipt of orders to assignment as<br />

Commanding Officer, Officer in Charge, Executive Officer, Executive<br />

Petty Officer, Operations Officer (MSST and MFPU only) and<br />

Engineering Petty Officer of a Station, Aids to Navigation Team<br />

(ANTS), Maritime Force Protection Unit or Maritime Safety and<br />

Security Team. Additionally, personnel with repeat Boat Forces<br />

Command Cadre tours who have not attended the course within the last<br />

five years shall attend. Members shall make all efforts to attend the<br />

course prior to reporting, or, if unable to attend prior, within 6 months of<br />

being in command cadre position.<br />
