Chapter 1 -- Introduction<br />

B.11. Unit<br />

Commanders<br />

Unit Commanders shall:<br />

(01) Ensure readiness in accordance with this Manual and Reference<br />

(i).<br />

(02) Ensure provisions of this Manual Part 4, Boat Crew Training, are<br />

strictly adhered to and all certified boat crew personnel possess<br />

required performance skills.<br />

(03) Ensure compliance with functional and structural configuration<br />

management requirements in accordance with applicable<br />

Commandant directives (i.e., Operator’s Handbooks, PMS<br />

manuals, etc.).<br />

(04) Ensure required tests, inspections, and preventive maintenance<br />

procedures are performed correctly and completely and are<br />

documented properly in accordance with applicable directives.<br />

(05) Take action on discrepancies in accordance with this Manual Part<br />

5 , Chapter 4, Sect C, Discrepancy Classifications and Required<br />

Actions.<br />

(06) Conduct Self Audits in accordance with this Manual Part 5,<br />

Chapter 2, Section A, Unit Self-Evaluation Requirements.<br />

(07) For Area cutters, conduct annual Ready for Operations<br />

evaluations in accordance with this Manual, Part 5, Chapter 2,<br />

Section B, Operational Commander Ready for Operations<br />

Evauation Requirements.<br />
