C.1. Area of<br />

Responsibility<br />

(AOR)<br />

Ashore unit Commanders (CO/OIC) shall review their Area of<br />

Responsibility (AOR) and establish, in writing, designated areas of<br />

interest that boat crews must be intimately familiar with. Prior local<br />

knowledge of AOR is essential to complete missions safely. Although<br />

not required for DOG units, the CO should designate areas of interest<br />

within their homeport.<br />

The AOR familiarization currency maintenance task may be completed<br />

by any combination of sorties so that the end result is at least one day trip<br />

and one night trip each six months to all command designated areas of<br />

interest within the AOR.<br />

NOTE<br />

AOR sorties will be completed on unit assigned boats.<br />

C.1.a. Station<br />

(small)<br />

For Station (small), the parent unit Commander (CO/OIC) shall review<br />

the Station (small) AOR and establish, in writing, designated areas of<br />

interest with which boat crews must be intimately familiar with. For<br />

Station (small), the OIC shall establish, in writing, designated areas of<br />

interest. The parent command shall review and approve designated areas<br />

of interest. Prior local knowledge of AOR is essential to complete<br />

missions safely. Members permanently or temporarily stationed at a<br />

Station (small) must meet the AOR familiarization currency<br />

requirements for the Station (small).<br />
