DEFINITION<br />

An Aids to Navigation Team (ANTS) is a <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> Facility with an<br />

OPFAC, Command Cadre, and permanently assigned duty standers, unit<br />

boat allowance, and equipment.<br />

A person is on alert duty when engaged in underway operations or is on<br />

SAR readiness standby, with a boat response time of 30 minutes or less.<br />

Abstract of Operations/Training Management tool – allows the user to<br />

compile daily AOPS data in a <strong>Coast</strong> guard centralized database accessed<br />

through the web-based application. TMT enables the user to track boat<br />

crew training, certification, and currency dates for both underway and<br />

shore-side training.<br />

An Auxiliary-Operated Station (small) is a Station (small) that relies<br />

on auxiliary members for its primary duty section staffing for three or<br />

more months a year. Auxiliary operated units may or may not have an<br />

active duty Command Cadre (i.e., OIC).<br />

Includes the Coxswain, Engineer, Boat Crew Members, and all other<br />

personnel required onboard a boat acting in an official capacity.<br />

A group of certified Boat Crew Members, consisting of experienced<br />

Surfmen, Heavy Weather Coxswains, boat Coxswains, Engineers, and<br />

Boat Crew Members, as applicable, selected by the unit Commander and<br />

organized to examine and evaluate boat crew candidates. BCEB is<br />

designated in writing.<br />

Any <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> unit with an OPFAC number, Command Cadre,<br />

permanently assigned personnel that conduct missions with <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong><br />

boats.<br />

The configuration requirements for standard boat outfits and equipment<br />

stowage plans are set forth in the applicable specific boat type operator’s<br />

handbook.<br />
