HISTORIA, MUSEOLOGÍA Y EL DONLucía Astudillo Loor - EcuadorAbstractToday in our Andean America, Latin America, there is the need to think in an integralway, to think about our common history that unite us and not in the histories thatseparate us.Museology and History can be an aid to help us present stories that interpret socialrealities of success that have occurred in our states and regions in an impartial way.Unfortunately in Ecuador the career of history is disappearing, in the two majoruniversities in Cuenca, the career almost has vanished, in one because there are nostudents and in the other very few still remain. History has almost become history, butnot a vivid history but a dying one.May be we should think about the need to believe in the gift that Marcel Mauss andalso Jacques Derrida spoke. The need to feel the gift, so not to be obsessed by theeconomic take and receive, but to believe in the need to gift for the pleasure of giving,to be able to become to be ourselves.Definimos a la historia como la ciencia que estudia las realizaciones sociales de losseres humanos. Pero, esta descripción nos lleva a identificarnos en que: “lo social sóloes real cuando está integrado a un sistema” (Levi Strauss, 1979:23).Y si pensamos que sólo los sistemas son reales, esto nos conduce a cuestionar endónde se identifican, quedan, los actos individuales. No existirían realmente,ontológicamente, en si mismos, porque todo quehacer estaría ligado a unacolectividad.En el pasado y en el presente, no son los individuos como tales los que importan, sinolas diversas colectividades que se obligan, que cambian, que interactúan. Son laspersonas morales, los clanes, las tribus, las familias, los reinos, los estados y lasempresas multi y transnacionales, las que se enfrentan, las que se oponen, las quellegan a acuerdos. Entidades dentro de sistemas representados por jefes, presidentesy gerentes.Los seres humanos en grupos llegarían a ser reales sólo en los diferentes aspectos desus creencias religiosas, ideas morales, políticas, económicas, ideológicas, filosóficasdentro de sistemas.No es nuestra intención llegar más allá con Levi Strauss y el estructuralismo, pero sitenemos la convicción de que la historia, la historicidad, está adscrita al ser humano ysus producciones y que el pleno cumplimiento de la historia sólo se haría realidad encuanto los humanos disfrutemos de plena libertad.Para poder gozar de libertad, de equidad, de solidaridad dentro de estos sistemas,creemos que debemos seguir la teoría de los dones, y estar convencidos de lainmensa importancia del dar.
