Course Evaluation
This part of the course design approach is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of
Archery Course for Beginners in terms of the degree of achievement of its objectives.
Design of the course evaluation study will be based on Behavioral Objectives Evaluation
Models. They define evaluation as the process of determining the extent to which the
educational objectives of a program were actually being attained. This evaluation model
gives only summative information to the stakeholder (Worten, 1991). Beside the goaloriented
approach, there will be observations of the instructor and the instruction during
the semester. So, some formative information will also be gathered about the students’
achievements, and lecturing styles of instructors.
The Single Group Time Series Design will also be used in evaluating the
effectiveness of this course. This design uses the students in the program as their own
control group. The same measurement will be made on the same group of the students at
regular intervals. An instrument related to the program that is eventually implemented or
administered at regular intervals before the program begins, during the program, and then
after it ends (Gibbon and Morris, 1978).
