CRF Recommendation / Aspect Improvement NIR-Chapter
2.A.1 IRR 2007
§66
The ERT recommends that Germany
continue monitoring average values
of the CaO content of clinker so that
an estimate can be developed
periodically, for example every five
years, to reflect changes in the
industry, rather than rely on the
same factor throughout the entire
time series.
Germany conducted a research
project on monitoring average
values of the CaO content of clinker.
The results were insert in the NIR
2011
4.A. ARR 2009 §
76
ERT requests Germany to
recalculate the emissions of CO2 for
the subcategory for years 1990 to
2008, including the production of
omitted plants in the activity data.
For transparency, Germany should
provide data used for the estimation
before and after the recalculation
including: estimates for the
production of lime in the additional
plants, estimate of total production of
lime and total consumption of
limestone and dolomite before and
after the recalculation, and EF used
Germany should calculate the
emissions of CO2 for the
subcategory 2.A.4 for years 1990 to
2008. The ERT recommends that
Germany estimates these emissions
using data for soda ash use in
Germany based on data for
production, exports and imports and
subtracts from this amount the
amount of soda ash already taken in
account in other categories of the
inventory. The emissions of soda
ash use should be calculated by
multiplying the amount of the
remaining soda ash by the
appropriate emission factor.
ERT requests Germany to
recalculate the emissions of CO2 for
the subcategory 2.B.1 for years
1990 to 2008 in line with the
provisions of the Revised 1996 IPCC
Guidelines, by eliminating the
subtraction of the recovered CO2
ERT requests Germany to
recalculate the emissions of N2O for
the subcategory 2.B.2 for years
2001 to 2008.
ERT recommends that Germany
revise the calculations for dairy
cattle herds regarding average gross
energy intake
Germany provides new estimates for
source category 2.A.2 with the
recalculation of 2010 emissions.
Germany provides new estimates for
source category 2.A.4. Germany is
providing the annual production of
soda in Germany inclusive the
annual imports and exclusive the
annual exports. The resulting
amount of soda ash is the annual
activity data used for calculation of
CO2-emissions from soda ash used.
The resulting CO2-emissions are
part of resubmission 2010.
Germany provides new estimates for
source category 2.B.1. For the
resubmission the sum of CO2-
emissions and CO2 used for
recovery are reported as CO2-
emissions from ammonia production.
Germany provides new estimates for
source category 2.B.2. The mistake
is corrected and the new and correct
emissions are reported under 2B2.
The methodology of calculating the
average gross energy intake of dairy
cattle herds were revised in the
submission 2011
§85
Germany is recommended to use
Methane Conversion Rate
parameters developed under
European conditions in line with the
IPCC good practice guidance
ERT recommends to improve the
transparency of the NIR in by
providing detailed information on
Efs, volatile solids excretion rate,
CH4 producing potential and CH4
conversion factor (MCF) by animal
subcategory and animal waste
management system.
ERT recommends that Germany
corrects the errors in calculating the
amount of N reported in each of the
Germany uses a MCF of 6 in the
resubmission 2010 and hence also
in the submission 2011
Germany provides a detailed
description of EFs, volatile solids
excretion rate, CH4 producing
potential and MCF in the respective
chapter of the NIR 2011
Germany corrects the errors in
calculating the amount of N reported
in each of the AWMS in the
