10.4 CHECKING AND CORRECTIVE ACTION
10.4.1 Introduction
Checking includes inspections and monitoring as well as audit activities to
confirm proper implementation of checking systems as well as effectiveness of
mitigations. Corrective actions include response to out-of-control situations,
non-compliances, and non-conformances. Actions also include those intended
to improve performance.
10.4.2 Inspection
EHS inspections will be conducted weekly on an ad hoc basis and formally at
least once every six months. The results of the inspection activities will be
reported to Azura Power to be addressed.
10.4.3 Monitoring
Monitoring will be conducted to ensure compliance with regulatory
requirements as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of operational controls
and other measures intended to mitigate potential impacts. Monitoring
parameters are included in the ESMP.
Monitoring methodologies or processes must be put in place in order to
ensure the efficacy of the mitigation measures identified in the EIA.
Monitoring methodologies should be established to address the following:
• alteration to the biological, chemical, physical, social and health
characteristics of the recipient environment;
• alterations in the interactions between project activities and environmental
sensitivities, and interactions among the various sensitivities;
• to monitor the effectiveness of the mitigation measures;
• determination of long term and residual effects; and
• identification of Project specific cumulative environmental effects.
The FMEnv guidelines require an environmental monitoring plan as part of an
EIA. The aim of the monitoring programme is to ensure that the negative
environmental impacts identified in this EIA are effectively mitigated in the
