1.4.8 International Best Practice Standards and Guidelines
To help protect the security of the Project’s revenues, Azura Power is seeking
to obtain a Partial Risk Guarantee from the World Bank’s International
Development Association (IDA) together with insurance cover from the
World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
Development finance institutions such as the World Bank provide guidance
on their requirements for the EIA process and place particular emphasis on
achieving sustainable environmental, social and health outcomes.
Such international institutions also provide environmental standards and
limits for emissions and discharges. The overall project design and this EIA
are based on relevant guidelines published by the World Bank and therefore
are expected to meet the environmental requirements of potential lending
institutions.
The following international requirements and standards have been considered
within the EIA process and are described below:
• Equator principles (EP)
