B. Portland Cement: ASTM C 150, Type I; color as required to produce approved color.
C. Hydrated Lime: ASTM C 207, Type S.

2.03 REINFORCEMENT AND ANCHORAGE
A. Masonry Veneer Anchors: 2-piece anchors that permit differential movement between masonry veneer
and structural backup, hot dip galvanized to ASTM A 153/A 153M, Class B.
1 Wire ties: Manufacturer's standard shape, 0.1875 inch thick.
2 Vertical adjustment: Not less than 3-1/2 inches.
2.04 ACCESSORIES
A. Weeps: Molded PVC grilles, insect resistant.
B. Cavity Mortar Control: Semi-rigid polyethylene or polyester mesh panels, sized to thickness of wall cavity,
and designed to prevent mortar droppings from clogging weeps and cavity vents and allow proper cavity
drainage.
C. Cavity Air Barrier:
1. Liquid applied air and moisture barrier equal to Stoguard by STO Corp on CMU.
2. Sheet applied vapor retarder over stud construction.
3. Elastomeric Thermoplastic Flashing: Composite flashing product consisting of a polyesterreinforced
ethylene interpolymer alloy.
a. Projects: Subject to compliance with requirements, available products that may be
incorporated into the Work include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. DuPont: Thru-Wall Flashing.
2. Hohmann & Barnard, Inc.: Flex-Flash.
3. Hyload, Inc.: Hyload Cloaked Flashing System.
4. Mortar Net USA, Ltd.: Total Flash.
2.05 MORTAR MIXES
A. Mortar for Unit Masonry: ASTM C 270, Proportion Specification.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 COURSING
A. Establish lines, levels, and coursing indicated. Protect from displacement.
B. Maintain masonry courses to uniform dimension. Form vertical and horizontal joints of uniform thickness.
C. Brick Units:
1. Bond: Running.
3.02 PLACING AND BONDING
A. Lay solid masonry units in full bed of mortar, with full head joints, uniformly jointed with other work.
3.03 WEEPS/CAVITY VENTS
A. Install weeps in veneer walls at 24 inches on center horizontally above through-wall flashing, above shelf
angles and lintels, and at bottom of walls.
B. Install cavity mortar diverter at base of cavity as recommended by manufacturer to prevent mortar
droppings from blocking weep/cavity vents.
C. Do not permit mortar to drop or accumulate into cavity air space or to plug weep/cavity vents.
