GLAZING
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Glass.
B. Glazing compounds and accessories.
1.02 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A. Provide glass and glazing materials for continuity of building enclosure vapor retarder and air
barrier:
1. In conjunction with materials described in Section 07900.
2. To maintain a continuous air barrier and vapor retarder throughout the glazed assembly from
glass pane to heel bead of glazing sealant.
1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Sustainable Submittals: No submittals are required. Refer to Section 01352 for Sustainable
recommendations on this project.
1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Perform Work in accordance with GANA Glazing Manual and FGMA Sealant Manual for glazing
installation methods.
B. Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing the work of this section with minimum
5 years documented experience.
C. All glass panels to be labeled with NFRC sticker, per IECC.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 FLAT GLASS MATERIALS
A. Manufacturers:
1. Libbey-Owens Ford Company.
2. PPG Industries, Inc..
3. Or Equal
B. Clear Float Glass (Type I): Clear, annealed.
1. Comply with ASTM C 1036, Type 1 transparent flat, Class 2 clear, Quality q3 glazing select.
2. 1/4" mm minimum thickness.
C. Safety Glass:
1. Clear; fully tempered with horizontal tempering.
2. Laminate glazing comply with CPSC 16CFR, Part 1201.
D. Tinted Glass: Float type, heat strengthened, light reducing tint color, per drawing.
E. Wired Glass (Type III): Clear.
1. Square mesh of woven stainless steel wire.
2. Comply with ASTM C 1036, Type II patterned and wired flat, Class 1 translucent, Quality q8
glazing.
3. Polished both sides.
4. 1/4 inch thick.
2.02 SEALED INSULATING GLASS MATERIALS
A. Insulated Glass Units:
1. Outdoor lite.
a. ¼” glass:
b. Coating to be placed on 2nd surface. Solarban 60 by PPG Inc. or approved equal.
2. Indoor lite.
a. ¼” clear glass:
1) Total Unit Thickness: 1” minimum.
