dered that was no refting Place long for me, fo paid a
Hog, and adjourned to a blind Publick Houfe in Hol-
born, there I called for a Quatern, and before I had
well toffed it off, .1 faw them once more looking for a
Needle in a Bottle of Hay, I laughed in my Sleeve yon
may imagine, with the agreeable Refleftion, that Ittas
as fafe as a Thief in a Mill; I thought myfelf fnug
there, fo I call'd for a Tankard, and fmoak'd a fober
Pipe to cool me after my Hurry and Fatigue.
Then I call'd a Coach at the End of Brook-ftreet in
Holborn, and bid him drive me a little beyond Newgate-
Market and then flop, which he did, then I called to
him, and bid him drive me to Milk-ftreet, and there he
fet me down ; then I went to Ho?icy-lane-Market, and
bought a Hen Turkey and a Duck, which Duck 1
dreffed for my Wife's Supper and my own, the Turkey
was preferv'd for our Chrijimas Dinner, both which I
may thank the Lady for. When taken by the aforc-
faid Perfon and his AfTociates, I defired them not to
pull and hawl me about to raife a Mob, for I would go
very quietly; they carry'd me to the T^wp-Breivers
Ale-houfe and fearched me, and took from me a Piftol,
a Powder-Horn, and fix Bullets, in the Hurry they
milled one Piftol iiaving two, which I was very well
pleafed with, I had not been long but I muft be for go-
ing before a Juftice of Peace; fo it was confultcd
which Way was the moil fafeft to go, it was at laft
agreed to get a Penny Cord to tie acrofs my Arras,
which accordingly was done ; a going along fupported
by two Perfons, one under one Arm, and another un-
der tiie other, and a very good Attendance befides; as
we went I coraplain'd they had ty'd my Arms fo very
hard that I could not poffibly bear it, they fo far indul-
g'd me that they loofened them, when done I got my
Hand orivately as poffibly 1 could w that Pocket where
