a moii devout manner faid, Lord have Mercy upon me,
a poor d-jing Sinner, Chrijl ha've Mercy upon me, Lord
ha-ve Mercy upon me, and fardoji my great and grie'vous
Sins fir Chriffs Sake. When he came to the Place of
Execution, he faid he had no more to add to his for-
mer Confeffions, only looking towards the Speftators,
he earneftly defir'd all Chriftians to pray for his poor
Soul.
John Chappel faid, that he repented of his great Sins,
and hoped to be faved by the Blood of Chrift, and de-
fir'd the World not to be fo uncharitable as to believe
him guilty of other Capital Crimes fallly alledg'd to
him, for that he had never committed any Capital
Crime excepting the cruel Murder for which he died.
They were executed at Tyburn on Monday the 8th of
March, 173 I.

HE was (as he faid) about thirty-three Years of
Age, but could give no certain Account of the
Place of his Birth. His Parents gave him fome little
Education, but did not put him to any particular Bufi-
nefs. At a proper Age he went into the Army, and
was advanced (as he faid) to be an Enfign in a march-
ing Regiment, but he foon left that Bufmefs, and mar-
ried a Wife, who appear'd to be a good difcreet Wo-
man, whom he commended as fuch, and recommend-
ed to the Care and Kindnefs of his Friends, He had
