On Saturday the 21ft of Dec. Kofe, Fielder, and Wal-<br />

ker, with the Evidence, went to Epping-Forrefi, and from<br />

thence betwixt five and fix in the Evening, to Mr. Mz-<br />

fins, &t the Old-Ledge, one of the Keepers, and knock-<br />

ing at the Door, the fame was prefently open'd by Mr.<br />

Mafon's Man, on which one of them fir'd a Gun into<br />

the Houfe, and immediately rulh'd in, Mr. Mafen fup-<br />

pofed them to be Deer-ilealers, and came with an In-<br />

tent to injure him in his Perfon, endeavour'd to get hold<br />

of a Blunderbufs, and to fire at them, but before he<br />

could effect it they knock'd him down, cut him over<br />

the Head, and ufed him in a barbarous manner, then<br />

bound him, and went to rifling the Houfe, vvhere they<br />

found to the amount of about 140 Guineas, befides a<br />

confiderable quantity of Plate, Linnen, and Woollea<br />

Apparel, and Furniture, to a confideritble Value, which<br />
