cordingly Goiv, WilHams, Behiin, Mehin, Winter, Pe-
terfon, Rollfon, and Mackaivley, receiv'd the Reward of
their Cruelty and Blood at the Gallows, being all exe-
cuted at Execution Dock, on the nth of June 1726.
A^. B. Gonv, as if Providence had direfted that he
fhould be twice hang'd, his Crimes being of a two-fold
Nature, and both Capital ; foon after he was turn'd off
fell down from the Gibbet, the Rope breaking by the
Weight of fome that puli'd his Legs to put him out of
his Pain ; he was ilill alive and fenfible, tho' he had
hung four Minutes, and able to go up the Ladder the
ft'cond Time, which he did with very little Concern,
and -was hang'd again ; and fmce that a third Time, viz.
in Chains over againft Grafs, as Williams is over againft

' E was forty-one Years of Age, born in London
_ of honeil but mean Parents, who gave him an
Education to fit him for Bufmefs, and when he was of
Age they put him Apprentice to a Barber and Peruke-
naker, and ferv'd out his Time faithfully; afterwards
he ferv'd for fome Time as a Journeyman, and then he
fet up for himfelf, and marry'd a Wife, by whom he
\\:A fome Children who are all dead. In his married
State, being originally poor, he had but indifferent Suc-
cefs in his Bufinefs, and liv'd meanly, his Wife lay Sick
upon his Hand for feveral Years. Thefe Misfortunes
brought all his Affairs into Confufion, and oppreiTed
him with fmall Debts, which he was not well able to
* difcharge.
