was chain'd thereto with an Iron Chain, running round

Neck, which was drawn thro' a Hole in the Poll; than
the Faggots intermixed with light Brufh Wood and
Straw, being pil'd all round her, the Executioner put
Fire thereto in feveral Places, which immediately blaz-
ing out, as foon as the fame reach'd her, with her Arms
&e pulh'd down thofe which were before her, when
Ihe appear'd in the middle of the Flames as low as the
Waift, upon which the Executioner got hold of the
End of the Cord which was round her Neck, and puird
it tight, in order to ftrangte her, but the Fire fooa
reach'd his Hand, and burnt the fame, fo that he was
oblig'd to let it go again .• More Faggots were imme-
diately thrown upon her, and in about three or four
Hoars (he was reducM to Aflies} in the mean Time
Billings\ Irons were put upon him as he was hanging
on the Gallows; after which being cut down, he was
carried to the Gibbet, about loo Yards diftance,. and
there hung up in Chains.
