purfued was taken in Bloomsbury-Market, and he toge-<br />

ther with Fielder and SchcoUng, being carry'd before<br />

Juftice Hind in Great Ormond-ftreet, they for fomctirae<br />

perfuled in the Denial of the Fafts ; but upon the J«-<br />

ftices examining them very ftriftly. End perfuading them<br />

to make an ingenuous Confeffion, Wheeler (who it was<br />

believed had an Intention to make himfelf an Evidence<br />

againft his Comrades, in order to fave his own Life)<br />

defired to be admitted an Evidence, and then give a<br />

long Information againft his Confederates, whereupon<br />

Upon Wheeler''^ information, the Names of fevetal<br />

of his Accomplices, with a Defcription of their Per-<br />

fons, were immediately advertifed in the Gazette, and<br />

other Papers, and Endeavours ufed to get them appre-<br />

hended, but the fame proved inefFeftual, till Feb. 14,<br />

about 11 o'clock at Night, two of thofe impeached by<br />

Wheeler, viz. one Rofe and Walker, and alfo a Woman<br />

who went by the Name of Rofe alias Frazier, and<br />

fometime pafied for the Wife of Rofe, were taken at a<br />

Brandy-Shop in Thicuitig-Lane, Weflmivfler, Mr. Laijj-<br />

renee^ Son of Earlsbury Farm, being prefent,. and affi-<br />

fted at the taking of them, who as foon as he faw<br />

them, rufhed in upon them, and knocked them both<br />

down; notwithftanding which, it was with great DiiH-<br />

culty they were fecured, having feveral Piftols with<br />

them, which they endeavoured to fire, and for that<br />

Night they were committed to the Gatehoufe, for a<br />
