hries committed by William Faulkener, 'as<br />

it was taken from his own Mouth, A<br />

IW A S put Apprentice to Mr. Hall at the Ghucefler<br />

Tavern in Pail-Mall, with whom I ferv'd near five<br />

Years pretty honeftly ; hut having an Opportunity,<br />

and a vicious Inclination, I afterwards robb'd him cf<br />

30 /. and a Silver Tankard, which I took out of the<br />

Sir; after I had robb'd him, I got acquainted with<br />

Thomas Nmvcomb, and he and myfelf broke open a Cooi's<br />

Houfe in Bre-iver-flreet, the Way that we got in was<br />

thro' the Cellar Window, which we wrench'd open;<br />

from thence we pot into the Shop, and took 3 /. in<br />

Money, befides Cloaths and Linnen to the Value of<br />

4 /. more ; for this Faft fearing a Difcovery, I im-<br />

peach'd Neivcomb, and he was hang'd for the fame on<br />

my Evidence.<br />

Another I committed with one Richard Sheppard a<br />

Butcher, and William Thompfon ; we went to Hammer-<br />

J'mith, and broke open one Captain Roger's Houfe, and<br />

took out of the laid' Houfe to the Value of about<br />

i;o/. in Money, Plate, and other Goods, as Silver<br />

Sauce-pans, Silver Swords, a Gold Pair of Buttons, and<br />

a very large quantity of Linnen. A few Days after<br />

this Robbery we went to Tunbridge Town, and there<br />

we three broke open a Houfe (that very Night that Co-<br />

lonel Stanhope was buried) and took out of the faid<br />

Houfe Goods to the Value of 300 /. as Lace, Siik<br />

Stockings, Pieces of Silk, as Damask, and a great many<br />

other valuable Silks and other Goods. Some Time<br />

after this Robbery Richard Sheppard abovefaid was ta-<br />

ken up, and tried at ths Old-Bailey m December 1719.<br />

for a Robbery, and was found Guilty, receiv'd Sen-<br />

tence<br />
