that he came up to Chapel, where he again confirm'd
all as above declar'd, and faid he had no more to add as
to that particular.
He appear'd always to be very devout and ferious,
exprefled himfelf to be heartily grieved for all his Sins,
particularly for that unfortunate Rencounter he had
with Mr. Ferry, which prov'd of fuch fatal Confequence
to them both. He declar'd again, that he had never
been guilty of any capital Crime, excepting that ons
whereof he was convifted, and he was heartily forry
that fo unhappy an Aflion fliould have been commit-
ted by him, crying Night and Day to Almighty God
for Pardon for the fame, hoping and believing that he
ihould be purged and waflied in the Blood of Jefus,
(which fpeaketh much better Things than that of Ale])
from that and all his other Sins. He declared farther,
to the \txy laft, that he had never been addifted to vi-
cious Praftices, but that he always ftudied to be regular
and fober, in his Deportment and Converfation. Some
Time before his Death he was \txy fick, but he Hill
exprefled a great Senfe of Religion, and crying to God
for the Pardon of his Sins, declaring that he had a firm
Belief that he fhould obtain Mercy from God, only up-
on Account of the Merits of Jefus Chrift, thro' whom
he expeiSed eternal Life and Salvation ; and that he did
not entertain Malice againft any Man, but freely for-
gave all Injuries, as he expefted Forgivenefs from Al-
mighty God.
