drown'd; fo putting on my Cloaths again, I came a-<br />

way fully refolving to go Home again to my Father;<br />

but as I was going along I met a young Man who<br />

owed me 3 j. 6 d. who afked me to drink with him,<br />

which I accepted, and went into the firft Publick Houfe<br />

we came to, where he paid me, and treated me with<br />

fome Punch, in which 1 walhed away all thofe good<br />

Thoughts I had entertain'd.<br />

When I parted with him, I went to a Friend's Houfe,<br />

complaining that I was not very well, whereupon they<br />

ask'd me to lie down, which was what I wanted ; for<br />

thro' want of Reft, and drinking the Punch fafting, I<br />

cou'd fcarce hold up my Head I was fo drowfy. I<br />

flept there near five Hours without moving, and when<br />

I wak'd found myfelf very hungry, and tho' they preflcd<br />

me to ftay and fup with them (for it was almo I Night)<br />

I would not, but asking Pardon for being fo trouble-<br />

fome, and faying, I fear'd I had over flept my Time, I<br />

took my Leave, and going to a Publick Houfe I had<br />

fome Stakes dreffed, and ftaid drinking there till ten at<br />

Night,
