After this Robbery, (loofmg ray old Companion<br />

Sheppard] I got acquainted with one John Wheekr, ard<br />

he and I went to Eghatn, and there broke open a Mil-<br />

Umr\ Shop, by firil getting into a Field which joined<br />

to the Houfe, and from thence got in backwards to<br />

the Shop, we took thereout a large quantity of 'I'ea,,<br />

Muflin, Handkerchiefs, Linnen, and other Things of<br />

Value, which v/e fold for 4p/. tho' they were worth<br />

buying Goods, knowing them to be ftolen.<br />

The next Robbery that I and John Wheeler commit-<br />

ted was, in breaking open a Church in Surry, that<br />

ftands near a Mile from any Town, and we took irom<br />

thence a Silver Cup, which we fold to the faid Glannir<br />

jier for 3.5 J. About, three Weeks after this Robbery<br />

was committed, I and Wheeler broke open the Houfe<br />

of the Lady Abergwvenny in Suffix, we took from thence<br />

fix Silver 'i'ankards, a Silver Boiler, a Silver Stand, and<br />

a Silver Lamp, thirteen Spoons, and two Salts, which<br />

we likewife fold to the faid Glannijler for 130 /.<br />

Some Time after this Robbery, Wheeler and I went<br />

to Hertford Town, with an Intent to rob a Houfe there,<br />

upon an. Information given us by a Man that liv'd in<br />

the Houfe, and knew us to be fuch Perfons ; when we<br />

came there he had procur'd us a Ladder, which v-fe fet<br />

up againft the two pair of Stairs Window, and by that<br />

means we lifted up the Salh, got in there, and fo into<br />

the Houfe, from whence we took a Silver Tankard, a<br />

Silver Cup, five Suits of Women's Cloaths, and Lin-<br />

nen, to the Value of 39 /.<br />

After this Robbery,,,we went to a Place called Hitchcn<br />

in Hertford/hire, and in our Journey thither, overtook a<br />

Waggon, which we compelled the Waggoner to flop,<br />

whiilt Wheeler got into the Waggon,, and took out .of<br />

it a large Trunk, which we carry'd into a Field, ami<br />
