him ; Mr. Fea faid he gave no Order for it, and it was<br />

tured without Orders he muft take his Fate, he would<br />

run the venture of it; but advifed G(mj, as he expefted<br />

good Ufage himfelf, that he would fend the Fellow who<br />

carry'd his white Flag back to the Ship, with Orders<br />

for them to return ScoUary in fafety, and to deiire Win-<br />

ter and Peter/on to Come with him.<br />

Gwti declin'd giving any fuch Orders, but the Fellow<br />

fail! he would readily go and (f tch them, and did fo,<br />

and they came along with him. When Go^' fawthem,<br />

he reproached them fox being fo eafily impofed on, and<br />

ordered them to go back to the Ship immediately j but<br />

Mr. iva's Men who were too ftrong for them, furround-<br />

ed them, and took them all. When this was done,,<br />

they demanded Gotu to deliver up his Sword, but he<br />

faid he would rather die with it in his Hand, and begg'd<br />

them to fhoot him, but that was deny'd, and Mr. Feu's<br />

Men difarming him of his Sword, carried him with the<br />

other two, into their Boat, and after that to the main<br />

Ifland where Mr. Fea liv'd.<br />

Having thus fecur'd the Captain, Mr. Fea prevailed<br />

with him to go to the Shore ever-againft the Ship, and<br />

to call the Gunner and another Man to come on Shore<br />

on Cal/lHand, which they did j but they was no fooner<br />

there, but they alfo were furrounded by fome Men<br />

which Mr. Fea had placed out of Sight upon the Ifland<br />

for that Purpofe : Then they made Go-w to call to the<br />

Carpenter to come on Shore, ftill making them believe<br />

they fhould have a Boat, and Mr. Fea went over and<br />

met him alone, and talking with him, told him they<br />

could not repair the Boat without Help, and without<br />

Tools, fo perfuaded him to go back to the Ship,<br />

and
