Defign; however we carry'd off about eight or ten<br />

Pound of Tea, feven Loafs of Sugar, and 3 j. € d. in<br />

Money, leaving the Drawer in the Entry.<br />

A JVorfied and Stocking-Shop likewife in Wide-gate-<br />

Alley in Bijhopfgat'e, we robb'd in the fame manner, by<br />

having taken the Key out of the Pin in the Window in<br />

the Evening, whilft we went in under Pretence of cheap-<br />

ning feme Goods.<br />

We attempted a Linncn-Drafer's Shop in Bljhopfgale-<br />

ftreet, one Sunday about Ten of the Clock at Night,<br />

and had bor'd and cut the Shutters in order to efFeft our<br />

Delign, but were hind'red in the Execution by a Woman<br />

who came by, and faw us at Work, who knocking at<br />

the Door alarm'd the Family, upon which we march'd<br />

off) and left our Delign unfinift'd.<br />

At a Toy-Shop m Sn.vithin'i-JHey, Cornhill, about IZ<br />

o'clock at Night, we broke off the Padlock from the<br />

Shop, but could not afterwards get it open, upon which<br />

we went to work upon the Window, and with a great<br />

deal of Difficulty, forc'd off the Groove, upon which<br />

all the Shutters fell down with fuch a terrible Noife,<br />

that we expefted it muft have alarm'd all the Neigh-<br />

bourhood, which oblig'd us to make our Efcape, after<br />

having been at Work upon it near three Hours, in all<br />

which Time we were not interrupted by any Perfon,<br />

the Watchmen, being as 1 fuppofe, regaling themfelves<br />

at the Ale-houfe, for from Twelve until Three none of<br />

them came by, to prevent the Execution of our De-<br />

iigns.<br />

We fucceeded better at a Shoe-maierh Shop in the<br />

fame Alley, about the fame Time, which we broke<br />

open j as we did before at another Shop within a few<br />

Doors thereof, about a Week before, from whence wc<br />

got eight Watches.
