had boared and cut thro' the Shutters, the Maid and
Miilrefs who were abroad, came Home and difturbed
us, fo that we were obliged to leave off without effee-
ting our Defign at that Place.
In St. CkmenCi Church-yard in the Strand, about
feven o'Clock one Evening in JaMuary, feeing a Wo-
man alone in a Shop, and a P;v:cel of Handkerchiefs
lying in the Window, the Door being fhut, we ty'd
the fame with a two-penny Cord, and as foon as we had
fo done broke the Window, and fnatch'd out about fix
Score Handkerchiefs, with which we marched off, the
Woman faw us, and in vain attempted to run after us,
but could not get out of Doors.
Out of another Houie in Holhoru on the 6th of De~
tember, by the Help of a ladder, we got in at a Win-
dow up one Pair of Stairs, from whenge we carry'd off
a Velvet Suit of Men's Cloaths.
And at another Houfe we lifted up the Safh gently
and took out of the Window a Gold and Silver brocaded
Gown, as the Maid fat by the Fire feeding the Child.
In the like manner from the fix Cans in Fuller'^'
Merits, about fix o'Clock one Evening, we took about
12/. worth oi Cambricks, Lawns, i^c.
From a Houfe near Red-Lion-Square, hoifting up the
Salh, and fliping off my Shoes, I ventur'd in at the
Window, and brought off a Child's Cloak, a Velvet
Hood, and other Goods and Linnen which the Wafher-
woman had juft brought Home, to the Value of 20 /.
