The influence of abiotic and biotic stresses
Key words: water deficit – rate of photosynthesis – rate of transpiration – hop plants
Summary
Hop plants (Osvaldův klon 72) were cultivated in field at Hop Research Institute at Stekník.
The trial had four variants. The first variant was controlled conditions – non –irrigation (N).
The second variant of the trial included subsurface irrigation (S). The third variant of the trial
represented the variant with trickling irrigation (T). The last variant included the microirrigation
(M). Immediate rate of photosynthesis and transpiration was measured
gasometrically in open system by the apparatus LCA-4. The statistically significantly
decrease of photosynthesis by hop plants in the variant non – irrigation compared with the
variant with irrigation. The variants with irrigation increased the rate of photosynthesis
compared with the control by 19.57 %. If we evaluate the effect of variants of hop plants
transpiration, it can be said that the rate of transpiration decreased significantly in the variant
non – irrigation compared with variants with irrigation.
