Antioxidant enzymes in the cotyledons of Sinapis alba L. after kinetin and
cadmium aplicationtion

Summary
Detached leaves of mustard Sinapis alba L. were subjected to analyses of some antioxidant
enzymes activity influenced by application of Cd(NO 3 ) 2 .4H 2 at concentration 3.10 -4 M and
kinetin at concentration 3.10 -4 M. Cadmium evidently accelerated the senescence of mustard
cotyledons. Conpetition of kinetin along with cadmium delayed senescence which was
acompanied by increasing of guaiacol peroxidase activity already after 24 h. of cultivation.
Activity of catalase increased latter and i twas not influenced by adding of kinetin compared
to control. Cd caused singnificant increase of superoxiddismutase activity on the 7 th day of
cultivation. Application of kinetin along with Cd probably diminishes influence of Cd,
because SOD activity values were not different from that of control.
