Inhalt: This block seminar (no credits) will cover a new series of lectures on selected
topics from the eld of development, environmental and trade economics. The
lectures which will be based on most current research papers will give deep insights
into specic methodologies like conjoint analysis and survey sampling, and selected
topics like the economics of eco-labelling, as well as other trade and environmental
issues. Profs. Basu and Hicks have both published widely in the elds of development
and environmental economics, and international trade. Apart from discussing most
recent research papers, students may want to use this opportunity to nd out more
about the American university system and studying and living in the USA.
