Northwestern Medical School in Chicago. George married Christine Catherine
Schwirtz on September 11, 1901 in Galena and one daughter was born to this union:
Louise Jeffers. The couple later divorced. Dr. Jeffers practiced medicine in Elgin,
Kansas for a time and later in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Dr. Jeffers died January 29, 1928
in Pawhuska.
Jeffrey, Kenneth Walter was born May 24, 1913 in Hanover and was the son of Walter
Edward and Clara Bertha (Koempel) Jeffrey. He graduated from Hanover High School
in 1930. Kenneth was a World War II Veteran. He married Helen Gaffner on May 23,
1942 in Galena and two daughters were born to this union: Jeanne Jeffrey and JoAnn
(Jeffrey) Anderson. They lived in Galena for a few years and later moved to Freeport
where Kenneth worked as a plumber. Helen was born October 5, 1911 and died
October 25, 1973. Kenneth died April 9, 1974 and they are both buried in Chapel Hill
Cemetery in Freeport.
Jensen, Hans Christian was born December 29, 1911 in Port Clinton, Ohio and was
the son of Hans Christian and Karen Jessine (Hansen) Jensen. He married Laurabelle
Moore on September 12, 1939 in Port Clinton, Ohio and four children were born to this
union: Gary Jensen, Gaylord Allyn Jensen, Dale Jensen, and Brenda Joyce (Jensen)
Coates. Hans was a retired tool and dye maker and they lived in Hanover for a number
of years. Hans died December 25, 1983 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
Jensen, Laurabelle (Moore) was born January 12, 1915 Port Clinton, Ohio and was the
daughter of Bertell and Myrtle (Allyn) Moore. She married Hans Jensen on September
12, 1939 in Port Clinton and four children were born to this union: Gary Jensen,
Gaylord Allyn Jensen, Dale Jensen, and Brenda Joyce (Jensen) Coates. The family
lived in Hanover for a number of years where Laurabelle was a homemaker. She died
August 2, 1990 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
Jensen, Mary Agnes (Petitgoue) was born September 11, 1909 in Rice Township, Jo
Daviess County and was the daughter of Desire and Margaret (Creighton) Petitgoue.
She married Allen “Pete” Jensen on November 11, 1939 in Amboy, Illinois and no
children were born to this union. The couple lived in Hanover for many years. Mary
died February 12, 1995 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
Jestice, Beverly Ann (Sincock) was born October 2, 1939 in Galena, Illinois and was
the daughter of Osborn Richard and Ruth (Falancer) Sincock. She married Kenneth R.
Jestice on October 1, 1966 in Galena and one son was born to this union: Kevin Paul
Jestice. The family lived in Hanover and Beverly was an employee of Eaton
Corporation. She died December 11, 1992 and is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery,
Dubuque.
Jestice, Estelle (Backes) was born January 14, 1912 in Dubuque, Iowa and was the
daughter of Nicholas and Catherine Backes. She married Ralph C. Jestice on August
10, 1933 in Dubuque, Iowa and two children were born to this union: Kenneth Jestice
and Theresa Estelle (Jestice) Jowasky. The family lived in Hanover for many years.
Estelle was living in Lake Wales, Florida when she died November 7, 1982. She is
buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.
Jestice, Ralph Christ was born March 29, 1910 in Dubuque, Iowa and was the son of
Harry and Elizabeth (Scharff) Jestice. He married Estelle Backes on August 10, 1933 in
Dubuque, Iowa and two children were born to this union: Kenneth Jestice and Theresa
Estelle (Jestice) Jowasky. Ralph attended printer’s school and was formerly employed
