up in Palos Park, Illinois and graduated from Lyons Township High in La Grange,<br />

Illinois in 1946. Rosebud graduated from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital <strong>of</strong><br />

Nursing in 1952, where she was President <strong>of</strong> her class and received the highest award<br />

“Best Nurse in the Class.” She moved to Dubuque, Iowa to continue her studies and<br />

later worked for the Dubuque Visiting Nurses. While in Dubuque she met Henry John<br />

Grishkowsky and they were married on June 19, 1954 in Palos Park and no children<br />

were born to this union. They moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1955 when Pastor Grishkowsky<br />

became the minister for St. Paul Lutheran Church in <strong>Hanover</strong> and Trinity Lutheran<br />

Church in Derinda. They remained in <strong>Hanover</strong> until 1998 when they moved to<br />

Dubuque. Rosebud died March 17, 2008 and is buried in the Trinity Lutheran Church<br />

Cemetery, Derinda.<br />

Groah, Florence Anna (Nesbitt) was born March 15, 1910 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Jesse Sherman and Lenora Hunt (White) Nesbitt. She graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1928. Anna married Arthur Groah and one know daughter was<br />

born to this union: Phyllis Groah. Anna lived in Lincolnwood, Illinois for many years<br />

and she died there on January 3, 1999.<br />

Gross, Kathleen “Kathy” Mary (Sullivan) was born November 25, 1934 in <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> John “Jack” William and Gertrude Mary (Pollard) Sullivan.<br />

She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1952 and from Clarke College, Dubuque,<br />

Iowa in 1956. Kathy moved to St. Croix, Virgin Islands in 1958 and began teaching<br />

school. She married Harry Gross in 1963 in St. Croix, Virgin Islands and two children<br />

were born to this union: Paige Elizabeth Gross and William Darryl Gross. Kathy<br />

moved back to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1985 and became the librarian at the <strong>Hanover</strong> Township<br />

Library in 1989 and remained in that position until 1994 when she moved back to the<br />

island. Harry died in St. Croix. Kathy died October 23, 2010 in St. Croix.<br />

Gross, Pauline L. (Goodrich) Robinson was born June 25, 1906 in Delaware, Iowa<br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Byron Clarence “B.C.” and Anna Mae (Kane)Goodrich. She<br />

married Edward G. Robinson on December 25, 1924 in Manchester, Iowa and one son<br />

was born to this union: Edward Clarence Robinson, who was killed in action in World<br />

War <strong>II</strong>. They moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1941 and began farming. Her husband Edward died<br />

in 1960. Pauline retired to Florida and she later married Karlyne D. Gross. Pauline died<br />

in Florida on October 8, 1992 and Karlyne died November 14, 1992. Pauline was<br />

cremated and her ashes were buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Grube, George E. was born October 11, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Edward and Clara (Stuckey) Grube. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. George<br />

lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years and worked at the Savanna Army Depot for 27 years<br />

before he retired. George died July 9, 1991 and is buried in St. Patrick Cemetery,<br />

Trowbridge, Illinois.<br />

Grummitt, Harold William was born July 13, 1916 in Galena, Illinois and was the son<br />

<strong>of</strong> William Arthur and Laura Susan (Hubacher) Grummitt. He married Virginia Mae<br />

Thompson on April 20, 1941 in Savanna and three children were born to this union:<br />

William James Grummitt, Sandra Lee (Grummitt) Allen, and Ruth (Grummitt) James.<br />

Harold was a World War <strong>II</strong> Army Veteran. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number <strong>of</strong><br />

years before moving to Savanna. Harold was employed as an Ammunition Supervisor<br />

at the Savanna Army Depot for 30 years. They also owned and operated Grummitts Tap<br />

in Savanna for a number <strong>of</strong> years. Harold died April 11, 1990 and is buried in Savanna<br />
